How it works

Three steps, every week

  1. Monday, the album opens

At midnight on Monday the week’s album opens, with its color and name: Pink Ipê, Pool Blue, Terracotta. Everyone gets the same color, revealed on Sunday at noon.

  2. Go for a walk and look around

Every day brings a prompt, like “something smaller than your hand”. You photograph whatever you find in that color. There’s no wrong photo: you decide if it fits.

  3. Every photo becomes a stamp

You adjust the crop and the photo gets the perforated edge of a postage stamp. It goes into the week’s album, and on the back you can jot down whatever you want to remember.

The shelf

A new album every week, revealed little by little

Every week has its own album, with the color on the cover and 30 spaces for stamps. The next one starts to show up on the weekend.

  1. Saturday, 12 am

    Surprise

The next album appears on your shelf, blurred and full of sparkles. Nobody knows the color yet.

  2. Sunday, 12 pm

    Reveal

The cover clears up and shows the name and the color. A countdown tells you how long until it opens.

  3. Monday, 12 am

    Opening

The album opens like a book, with 30 blank spaces. Last week’s album moves to the Archive.

Special dates get albums of their own

Each seasonal album has its own palette and prompts and stays open alongside the weekly one. When you make a stamp, you choose which album it goes into.

  • Spring Sep 22 – Dec 21
  • Children’s Day Oct 6 – 12
  • Christmas Dec 1 – 25
  • New Year’s Eve Dec 26 – Jan 1

The album

Week by week, an album of small memories

Your coffee mug, the neighbor’s door, a leaf on the ground. Things you would walk past become memories.

  • Window with blue shutters

    Weekly Album

30 spaces for the week’s stamps, with the color on the cover. Filled it up? The cover gets a gold trim.

  • Bowl of tangerines

    Daily prompt

A new suggestion every day to see the color in a different way.

  • Orange sunset over the rooftops

    Three stamp styles

    Classic, Engraved and Gold.

  • Pink vase with dried flowers

    The back of the stamp

Flip a stamp to read the note, the date and the city. Drag your finger and it tilts, with the light sliding across the paper.

  • Pink ice cream cone with sprinkles

    Archive and memories

Closed albums go to the Archive. And your shelf shows what you stuck on this same day in other years.

  • Coming soon

Friend albums, to challenge the people you love, and the Mailbox, where their stamps arrive.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is TestFlight?

It’s Apple’s app for testing apps before launch. When your invite arrives, you install TestFlight from the App Store and open Colarte through it. It’s free.

When is Colarte coming to Android?

The Android version is being prepared right now. Request early access with Android selected and we’ll email you as soon as it opens.

How much does it cost?

The essentials are free and will stay free: the color of the week, the prompts, the weekly and seasonal albums, the Archive and Your year in colors. Later on there will be an optional plan with extra styles and features.

What are seasonal albums?

They’re extra albums for special dates, like Spring, Children’s Day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Carnival and Festa Junina. Each one has its own palette and prompts and stays open alongside the weekly album. They’re free too.

What happens when the week ends?

On Sunday night the album closes and moves to the Archive, where it stays for you to look back on. On Monday the next one opens. Each album has 30 spaces, and completing one is worth celebrating: the cover gets a gold trim.

Do I need an account?

No. The app works without an account and keeps everything on your device. An account will only be needed for cloud backup and the friends features, which come later.

Does the app check if the photo really matches the color?

No. There’s no wrong photo. If it looks like Pink Ipê to you, it’s Pink Ipê.

What do you do with my email?

We only use it to send the invite and Colarte news. We don’t sell it or share it with advertisers, and you can leave the list anytime.
